McDonald Steel ties up with Japan’s Nippon Steel

Bangladesh’s McDonald Steel has entered into a joint venture with Japan’s Nippon Steel and Sumikin Bussan Corporation, one of the leading steel manufacturers in the world, to manufacture steel sheets, strips and plates locally.

Under the agreement signed recently in Tokyo, Japan, a new company named “Nippon and McDonald Steel Industries Limited??? will be formed, which will also engage in export and import trade, supply of processed products, raw materials and related merchandise.
“We are excited to have Nippon as our partner and proud to welcome them in Bangladesh. This partnership allows both the companies to build on each other’s strengths,??? Mazumder Sunil Chandra, managing director of Nippon and McDonald Steel Industries Limited, said in a statement.
